In August, 2015, the Department of Work Services awarded the school a generous grant that will fund our BEACON After School Program through 2018. This grant was written with the Grand County School District and helps fund district positions that assist in the delivery of the program, as well as our BEACON Leader positions and our BEACON Coordinator position. We are very proud of our partnership with the district. Our clubs are run by a mix of staff, parents, and community members. If anyone has ideas for future clubs or would like to get involved as a tutor or club leader, please let us know. The intent of BEACON is to provide After-School opportunities for extended learning and social engagement beyond the regular school day. Research has shown that involvement in the BEACON program can have a strong effect on student behavior and academics.
